The first doctoral workshop in the SPP 2388 - Hundred plus (SPP 100+)

The PhD workshop of the priority program was held in Braunschweig from April 12th to April 14th, 2023, with approximately 25 doctoral students participating from all 20 projects and seven invited lecturers.

The workshop began on the first day at 12:20 pm with warm greetings from Univ.-Prof. Dr. sc. techn. Klaus Thiele and an introduction to the workshop by Dr.-Ing. Julian Unglaub. Afterwards, three lectures were given on model building by Jun. Prof. Dr.-Ing Henning Wessels, Jun. Prof. Dr.-Ing Ulrich Römer and Prof. Dr. Jakob Beetz. The first day ended successfully with a startup research lounge and barbecue in the evening at the TU Braunschweig architecture pavilion.

The second day (April 13, 2023) of the workshop began with two more lectures on model building by Maximilian Kellner and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Slowik, respectively. In the afternoon, an excursion in Salzgitter AG to observe the manufacture processes of steel sheets and a labor visit in the Institute of Steel Construction of Braunschweig Institute of Technology were carried out. In the evening, the participants had the chance to experience VR at a VirtuaLounge in Braunschweig.
